Dr. Rahul Banerjee is a highly experienced board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon. He has honed his skills over two decades with a career that has taken him around the globe, from an Ivy League education at Brown University to military service in the Iraq War and volunteer missions in Haiti. Dr. Banerjee has also helped train future generations of orthopaedic surgeons as a faculty member at the University of Texas Southwestern.
Dr. Banerjee’s journey began at Brown University, where he graduated with honors before earning his medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He then returned to Brown University to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency and spent an additional year specializing his skillset with an orthopaedic trauma fellowship, training under Dr. Peter G. Trafton.
After completing his education and training, Dr. Banerjee served in the United States Air Force, where he attained the rank of Major. While in the service, he treated injured patients and trained orthopaedic residents at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. He was then deployed to Iraq, where he used his knowledge and expertise to treat injured soldiers and civilians.
Following his military service, Dr. Banerjee joined the University of Texas Southwestern faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor, mentoring residents and fellows and providing specialized care for patients with complex fractures and injuries. During this time, he also helped organize a volunteer mission to Haiti to assist those injured in the 2010 earthquake.
Dr. Banerjee’s clinical interests are broad yet focused. They include hip and knee replacement, fracture treatment and the management of complex orthopedic problems such as infections, bone loss, nonunions and leg length discrepancies. He is especially renowned for his expertise in joint replacement, fracture care and complex revision surgeries.
The Height Center is Dr. Banerjee’s latest venture, in which he combines his vast experience with modern techniques to enhance the lives of those seeking cosmetic height enhancement. His exacting standards are matched only by his empathy and integrity, fostering lasting connections with his patients and ensuring the highest quality of care.
Throughout the years, Dr. Banerjee has earned several awards and accolades, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the Howard Rosen Teaching Award from AO North America. He has also been named one of D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Collin County for three years in a row. He is an active member of several orthopaedic associations and has contributed significantly to the field with several peer-reviewed publications and numerous textbook chapters.
Briana Hodgson is a certified physician assistant who brings over 20 years of experience in orthopaedic surgery to The Height Center. Born and raised in Upstate New York, Briana earned her degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the Rochester Institute of Technology and began her career at a level 2 trauma center, where she was deeply involved in providing urgent care to patients with acute orthopaedic injuries. Afterward, she spent nearly a decade working in orthopaedic trauma surgery in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by several years in general orthopaedic surgery in Athens, Ohio. She then continued to hone her expertise in Plano, Texas, specializing in foot and ankle surgery. Her extensive experience in challenging and dynamic settings has helped Briana excel in quick decision-making, precision in surgical assistance and compassionate patient care, making her a valuable addition to The Height Center team.
Outside of work, Briana is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys skiing and jogging. She also has a passion for traveling. When at home, Briana values spending quality time with her family.
